Clinical department

Our clinical department at TT Mobility is led by an experienced physiotherapist who is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registered with the Health Professions Council.

At our premises in Waterlooville we have two fully equipped assessment rooms with hoists, plinths and a pressure mapping system. For the best results from assessment it is advantageous to be assessed with these facilities available and therefore we recommend the physical component of the assessment is completed at TT. However we recognise this is not possible for everyone and will complete assessments at other venues.

All our staff undertake on-going training in order for us to remain up to date with the latest developments in service delivery and equipment design. Both our physiotherapist and product designer have undertaken a post graduate course on posture management for people with complex needs.

Assessment process

At TT Mobility we evaluate every client's needs from the initial inquiry. This evaluation may be over the phone or through a home visit. From this evaluation we will be able to identify further input and an outline of the equipment you might need. If appropriate we will arrange for you to trial the wheelchair and seating. We will prepare initial budget costs based on the findings.

Not everyone requires a physical assessment through our clinical department. However, at TT Mobility we place great importance in the correct interpretation of you posture, how you sit and how your joints move, in order to make sure we provide a wheelchair and seating that is comfortable, supportive and will benefit you long term. For some people a full physical assessment is essential to achieve the best outcome.

From the full assessment we prepare a report that is sent to you. For those with less complex needs we undertake a shorter assessment with a report. We also carry out reviews for those who have seen us before as part of their on-going care. Where necessary we adopt a team approach and with your permission work with others involved in your care.

Paediatrics

This is a specialised area of wheelchair and seating provision. Our clinical lead physiotherapist has worked for many years as a paediatric physiotherapist in the community and schools before concentrating on wheelchairs and seating. Good postural management as a child grows is of paramount importance and we work with the child's family and other professionals involved with their care to ensure posture, activity and lifestyle requirements are met. The assessment and provision process is the same for all our clients, and takes into account the specific needs of a child and their family

Provision

TT Mobility provides mobility equipment and associated products from a variety of manufacturers. Through our experience we have developed a trusted portfolio of frequently used proucts for each equipment category.

This portfolio is by no means all the products in that category. We select ones that have proven to be versatile and reliable. We understand that when equipment breaks it has a negative impact on people's lives. We like to ensure such events are kept to the minimum and if they do occur parts can be obtained and fitted quickly and efficiently.

We also understand people change and therefore select products that can be adjusted to accommodate the change, rather than ordering new ones. We are constantly evaluating products and updating our portfolio and we are happy to look at specific products at your request. For more information please see our section on wheelchair and seating products.
